ARCHIVED: When I call UMS to listen to my messages, how can I control what information I hear?

If you use the Unified Messaging Service (UMS) at Indiana University, you can control your personal settings by accessing UMS Personal Settings.

At the above site, you can choose how much information you get when listening to your messages:

  • If you choose the Verbose setting, you will hear information such as the date, time, and who sent the message. If it is an email message, the system will also give you the subject line.
  • If you choose the Brief setting, the system will play your message without any added information.
