Overview
Two main types of web pages exist at Indiana University:
Personal web pages: Mypage serves personal web pages
from the Mercury server at mypage.iu.edu. All students,
staff, and faculty can have Mercury accounts and Mypage web
pages. Some student organizations also choose to publish their web
pages on Mercury, since it is easy to create an account using an
existing Network ID.
University web pages: Webserve is the university's
central web server, serving pages from www.indiana.edu,
www.iupui.edu, www.iun.edu, and
www.iuk.edu. These pages are designed primarily for the
use of departments, approved professional organizations, and
registered student groups. They offer more functionality than Mypage
pages (e.g., electronic commerce tools).
