Request telephone service in an office
In most cases, new office telephone lines for faculty and staff at Indiana University use Microsoft Teams Calls. Traditional analog landlines may be available for specific needs (for example, emergency phones).
To request telephone service, both of the following are required, in either order:
- The person who will use the phone line will need to sign the e911 Agreement. (For more about emergency calling, see About emergency 911 calls with Microsoft Teams Calls.)
- A representative of the department (such as a telecommunications coordinator or local UITS support person) will need to submit the request for new service:
- IU Bloomington and IU Indianapolis: Use the UITS Telecommunications Request form.
- IU East, IU Kokomo, IU Northwest, IU South Bend, IU Southeast, and IU Columbus: Contact your campus IT department.
If you do not know who your telecommunications coordinator is, at IU Bloomington, call 812-856-2287, option 3; at IU Indianapolis, call 317-274-3004, option 3. You can also email Telecom and Network Services.
