Through UITS, Indiana University provides access to email services for students, faculty, and staff at each university campus. The types of accounts available to you may vary based on the campus and your status at IU. For more, see ARCHIVED: Email systems at IU
Additionally, some departments may offer their own mail servers for their members. Contact your department's local support provider (LSP) for details.
Following is a list of IU campus email systems:
IU Bloomington | At IUB, email addresses end with
@indiana.edu . Students create email accounts
on the Imail or Umail systems when they create
their first accounts; access is via the web, but both systems support
IMAP connections. Faculty and staff are hosted on the
Cyrus mail system, and can use any mail client that
supports IMAP and SSL. Faculty, appointed staff,
and sponsored hourly employees and graduate students can request
accounts on the UITS Exchange servers.

IUPUI | At IUPUI, email addresses end with
@iupui.edu . Students create email accounts on
the Imail or Umail systems when they create
their first accounts; access is via the web, but both systems support

IUPU Columbus | At IUPU Columbus, email addresses
end with either @iupuc.edu or
@iupui.edu . Faculty and staff are hosted on
the UITS Exchange servers. New students create email accounts on the

first accounts; access is via the web, but both systems support
IMAP connections.

IPFW (Fort Wayne) | IPFW users are not on the UITS
email systems.

IU East (Richmond) | At IUE, email addresses end
with @iue.edu . (Until January 26, 2009, they
ended in @indiana.edu .) Students create email
accounts on the Imail or Umail systems when they
create their first accounts; access is via the web, but both systems
support IMAP connections. Faculty and staff are hosted on
the Cyrus mail system. Faculty and staff can request
IU Exchange accounts on the UITS Exchange servers.

Notes:
- Individuals whose responsibilities cover multiple campuses may be eligible for an iu.edu email address; see Move your IU website to the .org, .net, or .info top-level domain
- At some campuses, faculty and staff are
issued IU Exchange accounts by default. In most of these cases,
individuals who prefer not to use IU Exchange can request an IMAP account
on the Cyrus mail system. The exception to this is IUSB, where only
IU Exchange accounts are available to faculty and staff. If you are an
eligible faculty or staff member, you can create an IMAP account
through the Account Management Service (AMS) at:
