Before you begin

To disable your ADS network settings in Windows 11 or Windows 10 after you leave the Indiana University network, you'll first need to know the password for the device's administrator account. If you don't, it's a good idea to change it:

  1. Search for Local Users and Groups and select it.
  2. In the left pane of the window, select the arrow next to "Local Users and Groups" to expand it, and select the Users subfolder.
  3. At the right, find the account with the description "Built-in account for administering the computer/domain". By default, the account is named Administrator. Right-click it and choose Set Password....
  4. Enter a new password for the account and confirm it. Select OK.
