Following are some of the most popular IT certifications, their intended audiences, and additional links to help you get started:

• Microsoft software certifications:
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE): This is the most sought-after certification on the market. It tests your knowledge of the setup and maintenance of Windows Server networking environments. You must pass nine tests to earn this certification. Since the MCSE is so popular, a large amount of information about it is available online.
  • Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD): Often confused with the MCSE, this certification is intended primarily for experienced programmers. You must pass four tests from a multitude of options to earn this certifications. Visual Basic, C++, and FoxPro are the supported languages.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP): This certification validates your expertise on a range of Microsoft products, technologies, and solutions. You earn certification when you pass your first qualifying exam.
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS): This certification validates your proficiency with one or more Microsoft 365 applications and is a good entry point for anyone planning to pursue higher-level certifications.

  • CompTIAA+ certification: This certification is a standard for entry-level service technicians. It covers the hardware and software technologies most commonly used in business and validates the skills needed for supporting complex IT infrastructures.
