ARCHIVED: At IU, what should I do if an STC or RTC printer or print release station isn't working?

At Indiana University, if a Student Technology Center (STC) or Residential Technology Center (RTC) printer or print release station isn't working, don't try to fix the problem yourself. Instead, report the problem to a consultant; see Report a problem in the STCs or RTCs at IU Bloomington or IU Indianapolis

Note: After reporting the problem, you can go to another STC or RTC to print your output.

If you are in an unstaffed STC or RTC and need assistance, you can visit one of the labs open and staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week:

  • IU Bloomington: Learning Commons

Note: During summer 2014, the Information Commons is closed for remodeling. It will reopen as the Learning Commons during fall semester.

  • IUPUI: IT 131

Note: To print in an STC or RTC at IUB, you need a printing account. If you are a registered student or a faculty member, your account should have been automatically generated for you. However, if an STC or RTC printer is working for others but not for you, check that you have the necessary printing account; see ARCHIVED: About printing accounts at IUB.

For more about the Student Technology Centers, including site locations, hours, printing practices, and available software and hardware, see IUB STCs and IUPUI STCs.
